I read finish John Ortberg's "When The Game Is Over, It All Goes Back In The Box". I'll probbaly read it again...

From the final chapter, The King Has One More Move...

One day man's wisdom will come not out of books
but from the presence of the living God,
and our Earth will glow brighter than the sun,
and there will be no more sadness.
FYODOR DOSTOYEVSKY

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.

Our days begin with trouble here,
Our life is but a span,
And cruel death is always near,
So frail a thing is man.

Scripture holds out steady hope for those who have been born into God's kingdom:

"Where, O death is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

"Blessed are those who die in the Lord."

For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

All these people were still living by faith when they died... They admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth... They were longing for a better country - a heavenly one.
